Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2023 Honda CR-V

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Glacier Chain cable snow tire chains. So these are going to be low profile roller chains, and we'll take a look at how they fit our 2023 Honda CR-V. So if you're expecting some extreme weather and you know you're gonna need a little extra traction on the road, or maybe you're driving through an area that requires that you have tire chains in your vehicle, well, this will be one of the options available for you. Many people recommend cable chains or chains with rollers because they're a lot more low profile. I prefer chains that have links because those are easier to attach, but these definitely are on the smaller side. They provide a smoother ride all around where they have rollers that go around your cables, and that way if you have snow on the road and you need to move through that, then this will help in that situation. more

Pewag Servo Self Tensioning Tire Chains Installation - 2023 Honda CR-V

If you're expecting some extreme weather, like snow and/or ice, well, you're going to need a versatile tire chain, but ideally, something that's also easy to install. That's where the pewag servo comes in handy. For your Honda CR-V, there are different tire size options though, so the one we have is 235/60R18. Of those tire size options for this tire, this is going to be your more versatile and also more premium tire chain. So we'll talk about those features and see if that's the right fit for you. These are diamond-pattern tire chains, which means that they cover more of your tire than a ladder-pattern style chain. more

Titan Alloy Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2022 Honda CR-V

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we'll be taking a look at our Titan Chain diamond alloy snow tire chains right here on our 2022 Honda CR-V. So these are probably gonna be the best budget tire chains where you still have a premium features that you would see on let's say, the Konig self-tensioning chains but at an affordable price. So if you want something that's a good all around chain for no matter what type of weather you have, this would be a good choice for you. If you're expecting a lot and a lot of ice, though, I do recommend taking a look at our beefier tire chains that have cleats or studs in them. These chains are ranged in a diamond pattern and there's usually two types of tire chains. Ladder style chains that have a babump babump as you go on the road or diamond pattern chains which cover a bit more of your tire. more

Connor: Hey guys, how's it going Connor here today at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at the Titan tire chains here for our 2019 Honda CRV, with tire size 235/65-17. So if we take a look at the individual links here, these Titan tire chains have what are called square links. Now what these square links are going to do, they're really going to bite into the snow and ice, and they're going to give us the best traction possible. They also have a fairly slim profile. And what the slim profile does is, it's essentially going to mean we're not going to get near as rough as a ride as we would with some of the larger links. In addition to the square links, we have what is called a diamond pattern. more

Now keep in mind, we're working with tire size 235/60 R18. Now with these Koenig chains, these are kind of similar to the top of the line chains that you're going to be able to find out there. They really wanted to go out of their way and make sure that you had a set of chains to where you had to put very little effort forth to be able to get them installed in any inclement weather situation. You don't have to lay down behind the tire, make any connections, or even with some of those others self-tensioning snow tire chains that are out there, you still have to slide them behind and sometimes that means you have to kneel down in the snow or the mud and be able to get the chains behind the tire. With these, you can do everything from this squatting position like I'm in right here, but it does come with a kneeling mat. So if you wanted to kneel down on the snow like this, just slap them on, ratchet them down, you'll be good to go. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2015 Honda CR-V

Today on this 2015 Honda CRV, we're going to do a test fit of the Glacier cable snow tire chains, part number PW-1042. Now for reference, we're working with a tire size today of 225 x 65 x 17. First off, you'll notice this is a low profile design, which makes this Class S compatible. On this 2014 Honda CRV, we're going to show you a Glacier Chains Snow Cable Chains, part number PW2016C. On our CRV, we're working with a tire size of 215 by 70 by R16. First off, the construction of the crossbar here is built with a cable right here, on top it's got the rollers to dig into the ice and snow and work with the tire as needed to get traction. This is all cable design, which works with the specifications recommended in the owner's manual as well. This is a class S chain, so works great with vehicles with limited tire clearance between the tire and the bodywork and suspension components. It also has a built in tensioner right here to take up most of the slack on the outside. When you install it, this is front part. When you install it this always goes towards the front of the tire or the front of the vehicle. more

Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains Review - 2013 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2013 Honda CRV we'll be test fitting the Glacier square link snow tire chains, part number PWPLC1142 on 225/65/17 tires. Before we begin our test fit we'll lay the chains out flat on the ground and undo any kinks or tangles. We'll then slide the chains over the tires with the support hooks facing out so they're not digging into the tire. Now for the inner side of the tire we'll take the hook and link and clip those together. Now to the outside of the tire we'll secure it with the silver hook and clip. Once you connect it to a link that is within plus or minus one link of the one that was used on the inside. To release any slack on the chains you're going to want to drive a little bit and then double check to make sure you don't need to tighten your chains again. This is an SAE Class S chain and tensioners are recommended. more
